Dismantling “Rape Culture” on Campus
IMPACTS: A $2.5 million SSHRC multidisciplinary research partnership to address sexual violence against women on university campuses across Canada and internationally. I serve on the research team examining the role and influence of arts and pop culture/music on male violence against women.

I am a Professor  Emeritus in Concordia University’s Music Therapy Program. As an internationally-trained music therapist,  I have more than 30 years experiences as  an, author/researcher, speaker, music therapist, and social activist.

I speak regularly nationally and internationally on issues related to my research, publications, and clinical interests. Most recently I highlight findings from my book, “Music for Women (Survivors of Violence)” on how women can use music/music therapy for personal growth and empowerment, and how women survivors can use music to recover from the harm of abuse.  I would love to speak at your event.   Book me to speak.

Activist:

In practicing feminist music therapy, I have a commitment to support individuals in achieving personal transformation and to work towards societal change as well, receiving a 2006 Social Justice Award. My social activism work has run the gamut from organizing candlelight vigils and Take Back the Night events to my most recent project, Beyond #MeToo.
